Ewurama Karikari

Ewurama Karikari works at Amazon as a Hardware Development Engineer. She received her master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering at Stanford, where she was a GEM Full Fellow. Her interests are in the design of mechatronic and robotic systems, assistive and wearable devices, and motion planning. Ewurama received her Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, with a concentration in Mechatronics at the University of Washington, Seattle, in 2019. While at the University of Washington, Ewurama worked on her Mechatronics capstone, implementing variable impedance in a robotic gripper. She also served as a tutor for the calculus series for the STARS (Washington State Academic Redshirt) program for 4 years. Ewurama previously held roles as a hardware Engineering Intern at Amazon, Mechanical Engineering Intern in the Boeing 737 Product and Technical Integration, and 737 Flight Controls teams. At Stanford, Ewurama served as a Course Assistant in Dynamics Systems Vibrations and Control (ME161) and Mechanical Systems Design (ME104). She was also a mentor in the Women in Stem Mentoring Program (through the Women’s Community Center), and she is an advocate for increasing the representation of women of color in engineering.
